Project Background
Consumers of today and tomorrow expect the products they buy to be produced in a sustainable manner, with minimum environmental impact and with traceable provenance.
The new distillery will be sited on land at Charlesfield, St Boswells, near Melrose, an ideal location in the heart of the Scottish Borders.
The Distillery will create new jobs and utilise their own renewable energy.

Process
The complete distillery process is design to produce new make spirit in an efficient and constant way by using the latest technology in the mashing, fermentation and distillation areas.

Design
The aim is to create a stylish yet functional new home for the Jackson Distillery. Whilst the overall purpose of the building is purely industrial, we want to lift the Jackson Distillery above other grain distilleries in Scotland, the aesthetics of which are purely indicative of their function.

Whilst there are very much industrial elements to our distillery, there is the opportunity to screen much of this to create an appealing arrival into the site. The main building will house administration and marketing suites on first floor, whilst allowing for glimpse views into the still house at ground floor level.

A clean industrial aesthetic has therefore been applied to the building, using robust materials that identify purpose and create identity for the brand.
