Background
This masterplan had its basis in a previous PPP Consent, part of a wider overall masterplan to expand the small village west of Winchburgh near Edinburgh. Containing the proposed new town centre, the site must provide a focal point for the town and its surrounding communities, whilst also being flexible and commercially sustainable.

Within the masterplan, an appropriate range of dynamic spaces and public realm have been provided to support a vibrant culture of commercial activity and social interaction, with a range of housing and commercial development opportunities throughout the site.
A set of Design Guidelines for house types was also developed.
Concept for a pavilion café in the new local park.
Outcomes
This project aimed to be an exemplar of sustainable masterplanning. It's development as a house-builder led development is now well underway.
